Howdy from Phoenix

New to this forum...bought a 2019 XT5 Premium Luxury for my wife a couple months ago. She loves it. Lots to learn!

Replaces a 2006 Ford Explorer; what a change for her but she will adapt as we all have had to the past few years. Is it me or have all car’s technology risen exponentially in just the past 5 years or so?

Just took a road trip to San Diego (Oceanside) for the week. Yes, we were one of the thousands of fabled “Zonies” in CA during the heat of Arizona summers! I-10 is aweful, but I-8 is awesome. The XT5 is a fabulous highway cruiser. Handling, ride, and stability were first rate. I was concerned the ride might be punishing in some of the rougher patches of the Interstate but it was just fine. Love the torquey V-6 and glad these don’t have the ubiquitous turbo 4 engines one sees everywhere. GM’s 400 hp turbo 6 would be the ticket...too bad not offered as an option. Audi has the SQ5, BMW the X5M...come on Cadillac, you can do it!

My only gripe is the auto stop-start...just learned to flick it into Manual mode when stopped and then flick back to Drive. All in all, was a very nice trip in our XT5.
