New Service By Cadillac Called Book

Perhaps you don’t want to dive into purchasing the new XT5, live in New York and want to test drive one for an extended period of time. Cadillac has the solution with their new luxury vehicle subscription service called Book.

It’s a monthly subscription service that gives members access to whatever Cadillac car they want, whenever they want. Currently the selection consists of platinum level trim Cadillacs including the XT5, CT6, Escalade, and V Series. Included in the package is 18 car exchanges within 12 months, insurance, unlimited mileage and registration costs.

Each vehicle will come with On-Star services (navigation, crash response, etc), Sirius XM, and an unlimited 4G LTE + Wi-Fi Hotspot. There’s even a first time check out gift bag with a Cadillac branded umbrella and notepad to go with the complementary bottled water and mints.

Service is impeccable as the cars are picked-up and dropped off by a concierge at the indicated time and location. The concierge will offer to walk members through the car’s feature if needed. All this can be arranged through an intuitive app which was developed by Cadillac.

"We are going to continue to make the experience better and better," Cadillac's brand marketing director Melody Lee told Business Insider. "In the next phase, expect to see even greater improvements for our users. We want to make it even more intuitive and for the UI to be extremely simple and easy to use."

The subscription costs $1,500 per month with a one-time initiation fee of $500. What does everyone think of Cadillac's vehicle subscription service?

Smart move, this is an indication to me that they recognize people are getting less and less into actually owning cars and instead just using them from services like this (Car2Go, and so on). This will go a long way to sustain themselves till they're ready to launch self-driving cars.

Seen GM is doing something along the lines of this with vehicles such as the Tahoe and Bolt and what not. But I think Cadillacs is a lot more worth it. For example using a Tahoe for a month = close to the price of Cadillacs service.
